There is a name
for Putin. Indeed, there are many, many names for Putin, none of which are particularly polite or even printable. One such word which just keeps springing to mind begins with "t" and rhymes with "cwat". There is no other terminology with which to describe a man who instigated such a scenario that keeps the best company in Russia teetering on the brink of artificial insolvency, then plays some kind of cat-and-mouse bulls**t that dangles some lame ass carrott forever in front of investors noses which promises "we won't bankrupt YUKOS, we won't crush it, we will give more time to pay". THUD. Another tax bill. Police seize the building.... "We don't mean you any harm. We come in peace. We will give you time to pay". KER-POW. Another tax bill. Helicopter gunships and bulldozers raze the building to the ground....
Can there be any polite or even intellectual way to describe such abusive and pyschological tactics? It's total bulls**t from beginning to end. The man is a pyschopath. The very best that can be said of such people is that they have more power than sense.
And the second best thing which can be said is that they are a cwat...

The building is still standing, I saw it yesterday, rather nice by comparison with the ugly towers that are raising everywhere in Moscow...
SO many changes in town from the last time I was there... But that's not the problem.
Banks are closing also, partly because of the Yukos affair. Russia is close to a BIG crisis.
And last news... Seems that MBKh has given up...
